I purchased this map for a forthcoming trip through Namibia...Botswana....and on to Victoria Falls. This map does the job nicely. Since the map covers the northern and southern parts of both countries on different sides... it works perfectly for my intended journey since I don't have to continuously turn the map over. And... I was glad they had room to also fit in Victoria Falls and environs.

I have had this book awhile and, really kick myself for not reading it sooner. It is outstanding. Anderson is able to debunk all the chestnuts out there around free as well as spend the time to give you some history lessons on free. He also experimented with his own ideas on how to place the product out there for free using various methods he put forward. Very insightful stuff . I especially appreciated his 10 Rules of Free on pp 241 and the review of the range of conversion rates one can expect from freemium on pp 247. The key insight for me is his comment ( compressed and paraphrased by me) that:Price will fall to the marginal cost (in the digital bits case, free) unless the provider has a monopoly and/or enjoys the network effect such as Microsoft (Office docs) and Facebook. This supports a winner takes all effect, driving competitors to very low numbers. Facebook can not charge for new members because it has value in the network = linking new people all the time. So they will generate revenue from scale - losing with 99 % of the users and making it from a small % of ad revenue. ( or perhaps - selling stock!)I see that Guy Kawasaki and Tim Ferris both used ideas from Anderson in their recent promotions. Guy generated more "reputation" currency by offering free downloads of the Macintosh Way to people who "liked" his new book facebook page. Tim Ferris drove buys of the new 4 Hour Body , by offering a pdf of the 4 Hour Workweek to those who bought the new book. Tim drove his book to the top of Amazon very quickly = increased sales and reputation.This is the best treatment of free and freemium out there. Chris Anderson's book Free: The Future of a Radical Price is a great book on how the progression of "free" items and information has changed the way we view business. Anderson points out to us that free is not a new concept and that our history is full of examples like the "free" Gillette razor blades to the "free" recipe book on the creativeness of Jell-O. According to Anderson, there are two types of people: people with time or people with money. The people with time tend to have less money and the people with money tend to have less time. Overall, the book serves as a good assessment of how technology and "free" goods go hand in hand. Today's youth are desensitized to the conventional form of marketing so "free" offers a sample of a product that if it's acceptable, people will pay for the better product (ex. open source programs). The key is to give away things and use it as exposure while offering the better version as a paid service or product. For example, give away free music and if people like the product, they will go to the concerts/show and also buy the merchandising (which is the really money maker).

I hate to tell you this, but science, at least real science, has linked cause and effect. That's basically how science works. What this book is doing is trying to explain why the social "sciences" have yet to link cause and effect, and the simple answer is that the social "sciences" is not real science. The social world works by interweaving individual factors into social dynamics that create new emergent products. In science, you isolate variables to determine cause and effect. You can't do this with social systems. It's like trying to make sense of a sentence by separating each word and then each letter. The sentence only makes sense as a whole. This author is just trying to add more math and sciency formulas to the social sciences to make it look more scientific. I studied Economics. This is exactly what they do in Economics and have yet to prove anything or link any cause to effect, simply because economic systems are far too complex and can't be separated and isolated like a lab experiment. What the entire farce is doing is called obfuscation. If you are so confused by the math, technical jargon, sciency graphs and tables and data and figures, then you just feel dumb and agree with whatever idiotic conclusion the author invents. Look how cutting taxes and increasing federal spending stimulates the economy with all my sciency charts and formulas! It's an entire scam industry and this author is just like another grifter.

I first read Cat Marnell's writing when she worked for Vice. While brilliant, you could see the disease of addiction winning with each article. Yet, her honesty, unique viewpoints and writing hooked me. Then she disappeared.Then her book was published. Wow, she is lucky to be alive.While the road to recovery is different for every addict, the path she has chosen since the start of this book is working for her not against her. The roller coaster ride we are all on took her to the place where the tracks disappear and she went to the shadowlands where you do not do well with reality. Especially as you meet the nocturnal, broken creatures that share your hidden world.The hurt family members and the damaged relationships are the cost of addiction. She holds nothing back in this book. I found it hard to put down once I read the first chapter. I love her way of expressing herself in words.Great writing, great storyline and most important, it's honest.I look forward to the sequel.

I have to admit, at first this was a "page-turner" but I became disillusioned with the author when she made no attempt to save her life rather than murder it despite support from parents, grandmother, sister and colleagues. I was so disappointed at the ending (spoiler alert) when she seemed to revel in her addiction. I had hoped she would pull herself out. The writing is very good but the subject matter is horrifying: sex with disgusting near-strangers, using every type of drug she could get her hands on - I just didn't understand. What got her to that point? She never says. Her early life certainly did not point to the type of adult she became. I am now sorry I contributed funds to her continuing downfall.

Maybe I should have given two stars because I did learn a couple things from reading this: (1) Publishing industry is really missing out on talent by only hiring from a pool consisting of children of 1%ers. And yes, if you require a degree in NYC and expect people to make their way through internships, then you are missing out on talent who can't afford to live/work for free. And if this girl is considered to be a talented writer, I assume that's why. (2) If you buy this book, you are contributing to an addict.I've been an addict. It's horrible. I recovered in part because I wasn't funded. This book, however, is worse.

This book is like a barreling freight train. It never loses its pace. There is pain and loss but in the end, redemption. I lOVED this book. I couldn't put it down. Thanks for sharing your highly personal experience, Ms. Marnell. RECOMMENDED.

RECONSIDER! Before you invest money or time in this book, think twice. This woman's journey through addiction is not redemptive, insightful or thoughtful. Based on her writing she appears superficial, spoiled and completely devoid of the self awareness that it takes to be on a path of sobriety (Spoiler: She doesn't get sober despite her many romps in rehabs around the world). But that appears to be ok with her. Still being supported by her codependent support system, she is content to glorify her years as an addict because she was a beauty editor, who's personal hero was Courtney Love. (Yes! I'm serious!). The book is tedious to the point of painful as she recounts bad choice after bad choice. SKIP IT!

Woah, this was a crazy book, but Cat's self awareness, self-deprecation and humour made me want to root for her so bad.It's such a sobering portrait of addiction and just how hard it can be to break the cycle.I hope she's going to be ok.

Her life is a total mess, she acts out , does crazy drugs. But I couldn't help but root for her the e tire time. May not be for the faint of heart. It touches on several abortion issues. I really enjoyed the book. A lot of girls need to know because you may look glamorous, you could be falling apart on the inside.

Marnellâ€™s infatuation with her own edgy charismatic emptiness is a delicious rubberneckingly fun read but leaves you feeling dirty (yet grateful that you arenâ€™t her).

Love these recipes!

Excelent! So many ideas and really nice pictures.

While I love pie, I was not impressed with this cookbook. It is written by an Australian chef and intended for an Australian kitchen. It calls for ingredients that are not available in the U.S., yet makes NO suggestions for substitutions that might be available here. Also, it calls for pie pans that are not the standard U.S. size. Typically, when you buy a cookbook written by a foreign chef it has been edited to fit the American kitchen. Not the case with this book. While you may find some recipes that you can duplicate here, I'd rather spend my money on one of the many pie-themed cookbooks where ALL the recipes can easily be followed without having to guess at appropriate substitutions and modifications.

I love this book. There's a little bit of conversions, but if anything, using grams is a more accurate form of measurement than cups. The pies in here and both delicious and unique, always a big hit with anyone you're serving. Not only that, but the photography of the pies throughout the book are absolutely gorgeous - even if i didn't love the recipes, I could keep it as a photo album!

Some interesting ideas, but not written for the American kitchen and some unappetizing shortcuts. I adore pie, but not these. I returned this.

I'm fairly certain there is not a book by this author that I do not love.This is Harper and Liam's book. As with all of her books we are given a hot sexy man who sees a woman for all that she is. Liam sees Harper and hears her sass and knows that she's the one for him. Now to convince Harper.Harper has kissed a lot of frogs and is tired of looking for her one. Then she meets Liam.Love at first sight some believe (Liam) some doubt (Harper).This story flows so well. The banter between Harper and Liam's and between Harper and her guys is wonderful. I really enjoyed how Liam was so sure Harper was meant to be his wife from the first meeting. I love how she gained her confidence in herself as a business woman throughout the story. But I hate how she allowed uncertainty and fear to slow down their progress. I was glad when she finally got it together. I LOVED that this will be a series with these group of women who all have guy names. I also love how they build each other up instead of finding ways to tear each other down.

Liam and Harper was just the it couple for me. I loved how fiesty yet vulnerable Harper is. Sheâ€™s willing to go toe to toe with Liam about any business matter. She willing to put in the hard work to help launch her and her friends business venture, but when it comes to love sheâ€™s hesitant because she been burned to bad in her past relationships. But Liam is a fighter in business and all other aspects of his life. He see Harper and knows she is going to be his wife and he will not settle for anything less. Excellent interracial romance. I love Liam, I think he's a great character because he is driven and knows what he wants. I also like his straight-forwardness, his determination and his patience with Harper is admirable. I like Harper too, she is career-driven and just as determined to not be in a relationship as Liam is determined to marry her. Their love story is short, steamy and stays focused on the plot which I also love. Read this nonstop and enjoyed every page, anxiously await to read the next one in this series. This is probably the WORST textbook I have ever owned. Cannot even read past a paragraph. The interior structure and design of the book is just black and white, which makes it so hard to study. Stacks and stacks of words crammed up all together in a page with barely any illustration or spaces in between. Buying this is pointless, since you probably would not be able to understand not learn from it. I would burn this book if I didn't have to return it. Even my prof doesn't want to use it- but still required us to buy it!

I've read A LOT of IT-related books throughout my education and career. I'm working on my second MS degree, and I've worked in the IT field for approximately 10 years. This is definitely the worst book I've read. Overall, the content is good, but I had to force myself to finish each chapter. The review questions are awful and don't match up well with the content. If you are looking for material to instruct a class please look elsewhere.

One of the worst written textbooks I have ever had to use. This is very clearly not written by someone with much textbook writing experience. It is so information dense and takes an incredible amount of time to dissect. Most sentences are many, many ideas strung together and separated by multiple commas.Schools/professors - I beg of you not to use this textbook.Much of the Cisco Academy material covers the same topics but is written in a format and style that is magnitudes easier to digest than this text.

Didn't like this book .. hard to comprehend unless you are a complete computer Gizmo .. otherwise definitely not for the amateur.

Basic text for first or second year computer science student. Lacks in addressing practical issues facing today's integration challenges and the movement to Cloud and AI architectures.

I've been gifted, loaned and purchased many grief books in the two years since my son died. I can honestly say that none of those texts resonated with me and the truth of my grief experience more than Megan Devine's new book. She is a credible source of useful information, bringing not only her educational and occupational background to bear but more importantly her own life experience with deep loss and a broken culture. Above all, she is a truth teller and an advocate you'll want in your grief space.The beauty of this book is the universal insights it offers for EVERYONE who has experienced deep grief or desires to genuinely support another in their loss. The author outlines a refreshing take on grief for the reader's consideration, one where acknowledgment and a desire to love better are critical components in supporting ourselves and each other following a significant loss (ie. death, accident, illness, etc.) She adeptly explains the model's concepts in lay terms, provides numerous examples for better understanding, and recommends practical exercises that one can use to help identify and manage the impact of grief. The quotes from her writing students are especially relevant and poignant.I found Megan's work validating and thought-provoking, especially concepts such as her broader definition of "early grief", common platitudes (and why I feel their adverse affect), the critical distinction between pain and suffering (and how to minimize latter), grief as an experiment rather than a problem to be solved, and the vital role of acknowledgment and companionship in creating a way forward. One of my favorite sections is the appendix, an essay on helping a grieving friend, which offers carefully-crafted and readily shareable ground rules for supporting a loved one.I'd recommend reading this book if you or a loved one are in the midst of deep grief and looking for validation, guidance, and honesty in a post-loss world. This book, and especially the associated resources available at refugeingrief.com, are powerful tools for navigating your grief landscape with love and understanding. It's permission to grieve in your way and in your time ... and this has made all the difference in my own post-loss landscape.

The book is great in many ways, but I got quite turned off early on when she ranks deaths and makes it clear that there are some more worthy of prolonged grief than others. The examples of unworthy losses are pets and grandparents. (Neither were the reason I bought the book, personally.) Her own personal worthy death was the unexpected loss of her husband in his late thirties. In my experience, the intensity of the loss has more to do with the meaning the loss had to the individual, not how non-normative it is.

This is the book I wish I had read when I was writing a sympathy card and straining to figure out what to say to make it better (nothing will make it better), or when someone spoke about a horrible loss and I thought I was on the spot to say something to help the person get closer to closure (there is no closure).This is the book I wish I had read before my wife died, and person after person heaped misguided platitudes and unsolicited advice, and the world demanded words when I had none.The best time to read this book is before you need it - chapter 9 details why, going into detail about how grief alters the mind - throws us into a wordless place, obliterates concentration, alters experiences of memory and sense of time, and viscerally commands a new perspective on what matters. It can take years to realize a new normal.Each chapter is short, each sentence to the point. The table of contents is clearly labeled and well organized so that readers can quickly identify which pages to read to better understand and respond to a specific need or experience. â€¨â€¨This book has given me a better appreciation of the non-negotiable demands grieving places on body and mind. I let go of the misplaced effort to rush myself or others through "healing" or toward a "completion" that can never be, and now know how to be present with unbearable pain and unfixable horror.

I disagree with other people who say that Megan is giving off a tone of anger. She's not angry, she's raw, honest, & direct as to how this loss affected her & how most grief resources she had at the time didn't help her with her profound loss.I have followed her site, Refuge In Grief for over a year or more now. I have had a lot of profound losses in my life - friends, family members, & other people in my life. I'm about to lose my father. I am reading this now, & it's helping me with all of it present & past pain. It may not be a perfect fit for everyone, as everyone grieves differently but I know Megan is out to help people in deep pain who feel misunderstood & alone with this weight. Her intent is true. I'm glad the book is out there, I've gifted it to some friends & family that I hope it will resonate with & help.

Handling loss is an inevitable part of life, yet our cultural and social norms fail badly to equip us in this area. It's Ok That You're Not Ok should be required reading for all of us to lean how to handle this part of life. While I haven't experienced an out of order death myself, I found the information in the book to be immensely helpful, and I feel less scared to hold what can feel like the awkward grief of someone else.
