Great books. My eight years old boys love the series. Glossy pages with colorful pictures straight from the game. Tons of writing in the book (unlike the other "minecraft diaries" with sparse writing).

First of all, I am horrified at the reasons for the one star reviews. Isn't it possible to get reviews like that (by people who have not even read the book!) removed? I went and marked them all as inappropriate, because it is unfathomable to me that people decided not only was this book not worth $1, but CubeKid should be "punished" for his impetuous and irrational choice to not offer this book as KindleUnlimited. Bah!I didn't come across book 8 when it was not a KindleUnlimited offering, but if I had, I would have happily paid $1 for it. Geez, one-star-review-people--this is quality writing and if he wants to actually charge money for it, is that a crime? CubeKid, I'm sure those reviews get under your skin. How utterly unappreciative of all your hard work! Don't let them. They are the minority, I'm sure. I'd like to think most of your readers don't throw hissy fits.Okay, on to the actual book and the reason for my five star rating. CubeKid was witty, engaging in his writing and grammatically sound in book 8, which is always true, but it is especially impressive this round for cranking out such a fast story (and wow, it really was fast!). As always, my kids (Katie and Ben! ;)) loved it and I enjoyed reading it to them. Any publishing houses contact you yet? I mentioned my thoughts on this in my review on book six, and I still think that your overall story arc has excellent potential to be picked up and republished (depending on copyright infringement issues), or you might just be contacted to write something else. (Are you easy for them to contact?)Good luck, CubeKid. Steady on, and no worries--you have a gift, and it will shine through and pay off in the end. The 4.5 stars on this book is a reflection on the reviewers rather than the book, which is so interesting and unusual. Who would think so many people would get SO irate about 99 cents?

This book is AMAZING!! I'm being honest! I enjoyed reading this so much! A great second part to the "Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior" series, we are introduced to a couple new characters which improve the storyline even more! I would recommend this book/series to anyone and everyone who has the ability to read it. Cube Kid has sucessfully created not just a story, but a world where the readers can experience it as vividly as the characters do.To Cube Kid,Thank you for the effort that you put into this series! I bet that it can really become difficult to keep up with writing and well, life. But in writing, you really have hit gold with your ideas and storytelling! I know that i'm not exactly the first reader of this series, but I enjoy it all the same! I hope you have an awesome day!!-Rain123

Look I know that Cube Kid won't read this review but I still have hope that he will one thing I loved is that the first picture of school is in there witch is so cool Another thing is that Runt is very reckless but if you don't buy this book because of this review just look at my rating and my title so over all this has been my favorite book in the series so buy it Cube Kid is the best author of all time can't wait for book 12 TTYL

Okay, so I'm a reading girl, I can read 978 page books in 4 days, I usually read from 8pm-11pm, on vacation I read from 7pm-2am. I read a LOT. And yet I can't get enough of this series. It 1 of my favorites like, Keepers, Bella Sara, Horse Crazy, Harry Potter, and other horse and very good science-fic books. But this, this, like the other books, caught my attention. And oh, my attention was right! Even though I'm my opinion this os near the bottom of Cube Kids books, it still REALLY good! I recommend this series and the others, bye for now,Pega

Dear Cube Kid, 12/29/2015 Okay, so I I'm writing this in note form but what ever, anyway, PLEASE. WRITE. MORE. DIARY. OF. A. WIMPY. VILLAGER! Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please! I LOVE this series, I recommend it, I love it, Cube Kids's books are awesome and are full of awesomeness, just go and read any book you can find the author is the Cube Kid, all of his/her( I'm pretty shore Cube Kid is a boy) books are amazing!I'm going to go and read book 8,Pega

This book was awesome, another piece of awesome, amazingness from CubeKid! But my favorite part was when you put in my name, Joanne and my sister's, Jaime! "Joanne and Jamie, twin sisters." When I first read it I was like, 😨... then like, 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄! Thank you CubeKid!!!!!!!😁

Unfortunately, after receiving this book today my son immediately started reading it and within a few minutes pages started falling out. He loves the story but is super upset about the pages falling out. Given the price of this book I'm pretty perturbed that it hasn't even withstood 30 minutes of reading.

Openness Unhindered is a sequel to Rosaria Butterfield’s book Confessions of an Unlikely Convert in which she details her conversion to faith in Christ after being deeply into the lesbian, feminist life style as a tenured English professor at a university. This book is quite different from her first book in that Butterfield goes deeper into the philosophical and theological roots of sexual identity versus the truth about a Christian’s identity in Christ. This is a book that must be read slowly to grasp the deep Biblical truths all Christians need to recognize, learn and digest.Butterfield has profound chapters on Conversion, Identity and Repentance followed by two equally profound chapters on Sexual Orientation (Freud’s Mistake) and What Does it Mean to be Gay? Essentially she shows that our identity comes from God not from what we do.A final chapter on Community explores the need for all Christians to reach out to neighbors and minister to them. Butterfield and her husband have found unique ways to do this. This book will inform anyone looking for a biblical reasoned discussion of the issues of gay sex and the church. It will help those struggling with sexual sin or guilt-ridden about the past. It will enlighten run of the mill Christians about the fact that we are all sinners. We need to repent daily and cling to our identity in Christ. Butterfield writes with warmth, wit and wisdom.

Okay, Rosaria is a pretty intense lady, and I don't agree with some of what she says, but her book is definitely thought provoking, passionate, deeply thought out, theologically rich, and challenging. It's worth reading just to make you think and open up your mind. Whether or not you agree with her, her perspective is valuable and interesting. Also, although this book sort of seems like a sequel to her first book, Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert, you don't have to read that book first in order to get a lot out of this one. In fact, I liked this book a LOT better than Secret Thoughts. If you only read one, I would recommend reading this one.And just be warned, it's not easy reading. Rosaria is an intellectual, a PHD, a scholar... and it shows. This isn't bad, just be ready for some pretty intense reading at times.

Acts 28:30-31 --And he stayed two full years in his own rented quarters and was welcoming all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness, unhindered.Taking the title from the last verses of Acts--Openness "implies we hold nothing back from the God who made us and will take care of us." Unhindered "means that we are unencumbered by our failures."-- Rosaria Butterfield yet again, with clear and beautiful prose, gives us insights into Biblical truths and life lessons from her very own, unique, and fascinating life. It's about more than homosexuality or sexual sin--though it certainly deals with this intensely. It's about who we really are. Butterfield writes: "The root of my lesbianism was pride. The root of my heterosexual sin was pride as well." To know the root of our sin requires Scriptures' truth. To know who we are--our true identity--we must know the God who made us and gave us those Scriptures. And in this generation where the Church needs to understand these sexuality/gender-identity issues like never before, Butterfield is one person well-equipped to give us teaching and special understanding of such matters. I can't help but think she is here and eloquent for just such a time as this.I'm putting this incomplete review as a placeholder for now--I have been reading since Amazon sent me the book in the wee hours of July 1--because I want browsers to know that this is a book worth buying and reading. Even studying. There are beautiful moments in Mrs. Butterfield's voice. Reading it, I already prefer it to her previous work (which I also reviewed a while back). If you read her previous book (SECRET THOUGHTS etc) and found it powerful and valuable--as I did--then this is another offering to acquire. If you did not read SECRET THOUGHTS etc, you won't be lost. The author again offers a look into her life pre-conversion and the journey of mind and heart that led her into repentance and in Jesus. As she herself states: "I lost everything but the dog." As she also says (location 423 in the Kindle version): "The sinfulness of sin unfolded for me in the authority of the Bible, the growing sweetness with my union with Christ, and the slow sanctification of the mind that this births."Because her previous life had included deep and wide ties with the LGBTQ community--she herself living as a lesbian and English professor of Queer Studies--she is not at all homophobic. She is someone who loves her neighbor and the God who commands such love. And she shows us the value of approaching people in relationship, not as purely objects to evangelize.I am leaving this placeholder review and will add to it later, but I expect no disappointment with this second book-- only insights and pleasure. Already I can tell you this is not only for those with LGTB identification, but for all. I believe we are all, ALL, affected or bound by sexual sin, in agreement with the quote by Sam Allberry that Butterfield includes. ((location 71)I will add that the Kindle version is poorly formatted --many "pages" have screwy drop caps or extra lines in the middle of sentences or oddly spaced praragraphs--and I hope the publisher will attend to that. It takes away some from the pleasure of reading. A warning to those who get really burned when ebooks are badly formatted--might want to get the print.

Ms. Butterfield shows exceptional theological understanding and a heart of compassion and mercy throughout this book. She does not seek solutions through politics or a culture war but focuses on what the Bible says is true and the heart of the gospel. The last chapter on community blew my mind as she makes a powerful case for church membership and hospitality and its crucial role in spiritual growth. I do hope she writes another book expanding further on this topic of hospitality. Her writing is honest, discerning and poetic. I was very refreshed, inspired and even more ashamed of Christians who spend more energy condemning others than looking at their own sins. We all struggle with sin and desperately need God's grace. If we don't get this we have no business proclaiming what the Bible says regarding sexuality to the secular culture. First things first.

Gardening for a Lifetime: How to Garden Wiser as You Grow Older, by Sydney Eddison

From Booklist

A respected, beloved writer and speaker in the gardening world, Eddison shares her personal transition from dynamic garden maker to an aging garden caretaker. Revealing strategies she developed to reduce the workload inherent in maintaining perennial borders, Eddison presents a bullet-point list of “gleanings” to accompany each chapter. Determining which perennials merit a place while removing others is one option she explores. Gardeners who are no longer young will appreciate her recommendations for choosing shrubs that require less care, or plants that thrive in shade rather than sun. Making task lists might sound elemental, but Eddison explains the importance and effectiveness of such lists. And she suggests ways to search for help when one needs to spend less time maintaining one’s garden, a decision that can be difficult for type A gardeners as they grow older. Eddison’s thoughtful reflections are timely for countless gardeners who are approaching the time in their lives when a garden sanctuary can feel like a burden. --Alice Joyce

This is such an honest little handbook for the overwhelmed gardener. We don't always have the time, good health, or energy for gardening responsibilities, but we keep bringing in more of everything and with each comes more tasks. I've been wondering for quite some time if I've bitten off more than I can chew in my current garden. The author has gone through the same process and helps us make our gardens appropriate for our current (and future) needs. When do we have enough trees, shrubs, and plants? How do we know if we have too much and what do we do about it? This book addresses in general and very specific ways to control what goes in, or stays in, our gardens, so we can continue to enjoy them without being overwhelmed. After reading this book, a weight lifted off my shoulders, because she recommends that for certain tasks we get help, as much help as we can afford. Whew! I had felt so guilty not to be able to do it all. After all, it's my garden! The best part of it is, she talks about her various helpers over the years and their different approaches and what she has learned from each of them. I love this quote about one of her helpers, "she knew how to hit the high spots and keep us up to speed." The author is a garden perfectionist, which isn't always the best strategy for gardening. One very simple example is how she has learned to use lists, a practical idea for me. "When you feel overwhelmed by all the things that cry out to be done in the garden, making a list can be useful." Actually, she has several lists, including a daily list, which she tells us to keep short because we have too many other obligations already, and a master list, which we can chomp off items on as we have time, rather than stand around in the garden wondering what we could get done in the 30 minutes we have available today. Great idea. Her solutions are practical, and that's what I need in my life. The fact that the author is a perfectionist began to work against her over time. She kept expanding her garden, but expected to be able to keep it at the same standards she had when it was smaller. That didn't work for her, so she learned how to bring her garden dreams into line with the "realities" of her life. She eventually came to the conclusion that something had to go. That's the meat of this book, the process she goes through to decide what, when, and how to start simplifying. For example, she says, "The greater the variety of perennials you grow, the more work your border will entail...each one demands something---staking, deadheading, cutting back, or division, either to ensure good flower production or to restrain its spread." She also teaches us that if we have one genus or species monopolizing our time and dominating our garden, we need to think about reducing its number. Then she gives the standards a perennial must meet in order for it to remain, or be added to, her garden as it fits her life right now. She gives specifics, which is very helpful! One of my favorite and possibly the most helpful to me is, "...it was cheaper to buy shredded bark mulch by the yard, have it delivered, and hire an able-bodied young man to put it down than for the two of us to spend all summer hauling three-cubic-foot bags around the garden." I think I like that idea. I'll probably save enough money on tools and medical expenses to pay for that extra help.I love the "Pick Your Battles" section as well as the "Accepting Imperfection" chapter. She tells us just what plant categories she has found that practically take care of themselves and helps us explore new and different ways to garden.I have enjoyed this book and will benefit from it as I try to cram way too much into my life. At least I can work intelligently to create a garden that is appropriate for my needs.

I think this is super for any age if one wants to improve "ease of care" of your landscape. I use her principles and they work well, proven by how neighbors and strangers alike love my garden. Better yet I like working in my garden and enjoying its rewards. Very,Very useful for everyone with any plot of ground just about and who wants to have beauty. It is not about minimalism. Almost like a DIY landscape handbook.

This is not a "how to" book as the title suggests, but rather a sharing of personal experience. While I enjoyed reading it, it was more from "fellow feeling" - it is long on the perspective of the aging gardener but short on practical advice and strategies. I enjoy Sydney's writing but I was looking for more ideas to expand on my current strategies (yoga, Pilates, ergonomic tools, an occasional glass of wine, etc.). Since book titles are often up to the publisher, I'm not laying any blame on the author, but be forewarned if "how to" is what you are looking for.

There may be other gardening books out there that have more to say... But I'm an aging gardener and I loved the pace, wisdom and story-line this book offers. It's not just a gardening book, it's like sitting with a wise and fun-loving sage who just happens to know a lot about gardening and life. Meeting her husband in the story line and experiencing her loss, as many of us have done as we age, gives me hope that life continues to blossom, even after the winter-of-our-lives. Gardens change and so do we. Once a bright playful meadow slowly creeps back allowing the woodland take over. May our own evolution be so graceful. And as hopeful. We don't have to stop gardening, we just have to remember where we are in life's cycle, and -- be honest with ourselves.

This is a perfect fit for a retiree who loves to garden, but needs ideas to help simplify maintence and upkeep. Fifteen years ago the lot we purchased was bare, now we have forty plus trees, numerous shrubs, perennials in both shade and sun gardens, and a 20 X 20 vegetable garden. Having been retired five years, and having gone through a knee replacement I knew it was time to simplify, but I couldn't bring myself to get rid of anything. This author gives lots of examples on how to eliminate plants that are high maintence, suggestions for shrubs and trees that need little to no pruning, and ways to ease achy joints by making garden chores less time consuming. I saw her book suggested in the newspaper, and knew it was the perfect book for me at the time. I was concerned as to whether or not I could continue gardening. This summer we have applied many of Sydney Eddison's ideas and have redesigned beds, decreased overgrown shrubs, and eliminated troublesome perennials. This book was the right read at the right time. All retirees who love to garden should own this book.

A friend of 40+ years has crossed the big seven-oh line. Her green thumb reaches all the way to her shoulder but even she is slowing down a bit in the garden. This book is perfect for her...so perfect, in fact, that I gave it to her in May as her birthday-in-August gift! She loves it! If you've got an older gardener around the house, or if one stares out of the mirror at you as you brush your teeth (how DID that old woman get in there?), this is the book for you!

I thought this was going to be helpful, but it's mostly charming ramblings about the wealthy East coast writer's life, as it related to her garden. Don't waste your money, get it at the library if you must read it. I didn't even finish it, I'm sad to say.
