He missed his chance at the prior Olympics by failing a drug test for using marijuana, but everyone just presumed it must have been for performance enhancing drugs, and no one, not even his coach, would come to his defense. As he watches her skate, he starts to calm down and then hopes that not only will he make the Russian team, but that his path will cross with Ms. Turner’s. He wants a chance to know her. When he sees her in Chicago, he beelines to introduce himself and the attraction between them is instant. But her coaches aren’t excited about the Russian bad boy hanging around their golden girl when she should be focused on winning gold.Tabitha admits that she has limited practical knowledge of men, except for her mother and sister’s bad choices. She has spent all her adolescence skating instead of dating. So she and Daniil take their time getting to know each other while supporting each other in their skating. But with each competition, the pressure mounts toward the final goal of Olympic gold. Can a blossoming relationship between a Russian bad boy and an American good girl withstand the building pressures from outside forces and within themselves?What really made the story so engrossing if the fact that we really get an understanding of how much pressure they are under. Tabitha is fighting to get back her love for skating. Her technique is perfect but her performance has lost its shine. Daniil is fighting to get on a team that doesn’t want him. If he doesn’t dominate, they will shut him out. Even though their lives are so different, they want so much to be together, but an implosion is almost inevitable. We see the differences in how their marketing affects who they are when they are subjected to a rather horrible and mandatory random drug testing. When they arrive for Tabitha, the testers are apologetic to her; while the testers are outright nasty to Daniil and presumptuous that he will probably fail it anyway.The author find a happy balance in introducing the secondary characters so that they aren’t flat or stereotypical characters.

Shining Through is the fourth book in the Red Hot Russians series but it can be read as a standalone. I’ve read the second book in this series (Turning It On) and honestly, after reading Shining Through, I think I need to go back and read the complete series!Tabitha is America’s golden girl, some call her The Ice Princess and she has a high chance of winning a gold medal on figure skating. The ultimate dream of any athlete. But Tabitha is starting to slip, after all everyone’s expectations are high, her trainer, her family, her country, but the highest of them all – her own. She wants to make it up to her family, after all that they sacrificed for her career, but she can’t seem to find her passion while performing, she’s struggling to connect with her inner self and to let her emotions shine in the rink. Even though her technique is flawless, she finds herself at odds with her program and she knows she has to get it all together to really have a chance to win gold. She’s aiming for perfection but she feels she is still far from it.Daniil is the hottest bad boy in the rink, a figure skater too, he’s known to get in trouble from time to time, oh well – most of the time. But Daniil is determined to succeed, he wants nothing more than to compete at his best level yet and to get a place at the Winter Games. He knows he’s far from perfect but his competitive nature, his anger, his passion sets him apart from his competitors. He takes it all and leaves it all, flawlessly executed, in the rink. But… can they have a future together?I loved how Elizabeth Harmon characterized both Daniil and Tabitha physically and emotionally. I have both of them perfectly pictured in my mind! There were a lot of secondary characters which some times could be a little distracting, even though I really enjoyed Tabitha’s sister and the coaches/choreographers moments. Daniil and Tabitha’s love story is unique, I loved the figure skating world: the pressure, the hard work, the competitiveness, the hopes and expectations. And mostly I loved how two strong characters that were fighting to reach their dreams, deeply needed one another to achieve something even more important than that: their true selves. Absolutely delightful!If you love a heart warming romance I highly recommend Shinning Through: with hot Russians, intense chemistry, well developed characters, a not so glamorous figure ice skating world and a Winter Games competition, you won’t be able to put it down.

I have enjoyed all the books in the Red Hot Russians series, but Shining Through was by far my favorite. Not only did I enjoy the romance between Tabitha and Daniiel, but the storyline throughout the book was really well written and developed. I couldn’t put the book down!

Enjoyed the characters and the book flowed very easily. A cute romance and humor which is awesome. Definitely recommend this story for anyone who loves love.

Only a God-realized being has the knowledge, the depth and acuity of insight to author a book such as God Speaks on the purpose of Creation and the goal of life. Meher Baba was that rare one among perfect ones who appears whenever a world crisis is at its height and whose role is to set the world on a new direction in a new age. From February 25, 1894, until January 31, 1969, the Saviour of mankind again walked this earth. The Messiah, the Christ, the Avatar, the Buddha, the Rasool of God was again among us in human form as Meher Baba. This statement cannot be intellectually proved, nor is it made to establish a claim. The greatness and significance of Meher Baba can only be measured by the stretching of the inner self of those who are attracted by the impact of his life and teachings. Throughout his lifetime, Meher Baba's headquarters were in western India, often near Poona or Ahmednagar. Although access and contact were difficult by Western standards (especially with the permanent residence of later years at Meherazad), this was not isolation. Long periods of seclusion alternated with extensive world travels. His contacts with notables and with the unknown were extensive. In a crowd, his dynamic nature drew all eyes toward him. His charm and appeal to all who came near him were universal. For his devotees, he changed every facet of their existence. They would rearrange their lives so that they could be with him on those rare occasions when he held darshan or sahavas. His silence, which he observed voluntarily since 1925, did not impair communication. "In the past, I have given you enough words," he said, "the time has now come to live them." Up until late 1954 he used a board with letters of the English alphabet mounted on it, to which he pointed. That is how he dictated this book. After 1954 he used hand gestures, where were read out by disciples. Meher Baba did not come to establish a new religion. "There are enough of these," he said. He came to awaken us. The task for the individual is to live his religion in practice, by working on himself and by serving othersnot to convert or change others to match his own views. Throughout his life, Avatar Meher Baba was the living example of his motto "Mastery in Servitude." This is emblazoned on the tomb where his body now lies buried atop Meherabad Hill.

Only God can speak about these things.Splendid, astonishing and amazing..!!!From stone to God, whole creatures' long journey ..We are all drops of Ocean of infinite Knowledge, Bliss and Power...Only God can speak about these things.On the bookcover, Meher baba is looking at the ocean...When I went to southern- sea of my country, Korea, I remembered that image of Meher baba's looking at the ocean..When I saw some fishes in the sea, they reminded me of whole creatures' long journey to God..fish to bird, bird to animal, animal to human being....and so on..Thank Baba, Thank God.. for giving me this book .. this is a real gift from God...I haven't read all of this book, I wil read it little by little..And I have read small book 'Divine Theme' before which is included as conclusion chapters of 'God Speaks'.That 'Divine theme' is like core summary of this book.If you don't have enough time to read such a thick book, you could try 'Divine Theme' first.. on the web.

This is one of the most creative, imaginative, beautiful books I have ever found in my life. Meher Baba's narrative of creation, consciousness, and ultimately, enlightenment is a thrilling, unexpected journey of spirituality. Regardless of whether any of this is empirically true, or whether it is simply a model of how consciousness may evolve, it is a masterpiece of a book and, even if it is fictional, is stirring and emotional in its message for all. Highly, highly recommended for theists, atheists, and anyone in between.

This is not an easy book to read, you have to use yor mind and really think about what he is saying.

God Speaks from Meher Baba is written in a very understandable manner. Explained are the planes of consiousness, God in Beyond Beyond state (the very essence that IS).Of course I can't claim to know, that this information is "true".Though I can tell that it completely makes sense in itself and it also answered many questions that I had.What is there more to say?If you are interested in God, this book is probably lecture for you. Vedantic and Sufi terms are always described along with the mystic terms. Example: Savior (mystic) = Rasool (Sufi) = Avatar (Vedantic).Also there are many charts and graphics that help to improve the understanding a lot. One of those graphics is there in almost Din A 2 format (it's a little smaller then Din A 2) as a poster. That one shows the complete constellation of God and the conscious Soul along with attributes and always termed in Sufi, Vedantic and mystic words parallely for better understanding.Want to know the very reason and essence of your being and God? Then just read THIS book und you will get many answers.

Meher Baba's explanation of evolution solved my problem with Darwin's (now) unsatisfactory theory, which is based on a series of random accidents that just happen to (accidentally) produce consciousness.As Baba explains, the driving force of evolution is God's whim to know Himself.The overwhelming evidences of intelligence imbedded in the workings of living cells, to which Darwin was not privy, are a reflection of that same divine urge, which moves life in the direction of higher and higher forms of consciousness.Many lovers of Meher Baba are attracted to the incredible love that emanated from this man. As a very cerebral young man with some Asperger-like traits, I was first drawn in by Baba's appeal to the intellect in this and other writings.It will be Baba's love that will ultimately draw me deeper into the new life that lies beyond my fears.Meher Baba made Jesus come alive for me in his writing and in his living.

God Speaks was one of the best books ive ever read. it was a very difficult read, however there is a lot of good information if you have the patience and some knowledge before hand to grasp some of the information. But patience is an important quality in order to get through with this book. The very first part of the book is extremely repetitive and takes enormous patience, but once you get through its an amazing read. My favorite parts were on the actual evolution on consciousness. bodily form evolves around consciousness not the other way around as Darwinism teaches. Darwinism i never believed anyway because its too widespread information thats talked about as fact so dont question it..the rest of the book gets into how the soul reaches into the oversoul, or god in man form, and is very detailed and goes in depth of the different forms of consciousness of god-man and the powers each one possess. one thing i found interesting was he mentioned that one can only reach a 'god realized' state through the form of a Male. This is a book i will have to read again when the time calls for it. there is just no way one can read this book once, virtually impossible.

This is one dense book. I am slowly having to dissect it. It is well written material that is unfolding before me one pedal at a time. Such a beautiful flower blossoming from the depth of this strange man's awareness. Well worth a read, even if you don't necessarily agree with it. But beware, it is thorough and builds on itself.
